Talk about rewriting history. Democrats were the party that supported slavery. Your TDS is showing again.

A closer examination of history will show that you can’t just go by names. The Jacksonian Democratic party split north vs south in the 1860 election enabling the Lincoln Republicans to win. During the late 1800s and early 1900s the party was still fractured but maintained a loose alliance on their support for an agrarian economy and industrialization skepticism. The southern democrats finally split off after the Civil Rights act of 1964 with Ronald Reagan’s election completing the divorce. This made the former southern democrats the central power base of the much evolved modern Republican party. Keeping up with shifting political allegiances can sure be a mess!
